What makes you passionate about Early Childhood Education?
I have been passionate about education since I was a little girl, I remember playing “Schools” and being the teacher, looking after my class of children and helping them learn their ABC’s. After I finished high school I did some volunteer work at my local centre and was offered a traineeship to complete my certificate 3 and I haven’t looked back. I believe that when you know, you know, and from my very first shift, I just knew that this was something that I am passionate about and love.

What makes your centre different from others?
Kids Academy Erina Heights has as strong sense of community. Our Educators are dedicated and passionate, which is strongly evident through the relationships that they have built with our children and their families. Our learning environments play a major role in the success of our learning programs, they enhance the children’s interests in all developmental domains taking into consideration the social skills, communication skills, physical abilities and learning styles of all children whilst presenting them with the opportunity to investigate and explore their own ideas and theories. Kids Academy Erina Heights is a family.

What makes you passionate about Early Childhood Education?
I am passionate about Early childhood education as I feel the early years are such an important time to develop skills that will be used for a lifetime. I want the children in my care to feel like our centre is their home away from home. I strongly believe that developing positive relationships with children is the key to best outcomes for children and provides children with the emotional support they need to thrive in their social, emotional and cognitive skills. Witnessing children master a new skill or go off to primary school confident and excited makes me so proud!

How would you apply the national Quality Standards and EYLF for Educational Programming?
I use the EYLF outcomes to assess the children’s learning and development and to further plan for their future development. The national quality standards is used to guide the standard of our practices and to further develop the way in which we program to ensure we are exceeding the national quality standards.

What makes you passionate about Early Childhood Education?
I started my journey in the early childhood sector on completion of my HSC. From the moment I began, I realised that the love I had for teaching was one not to be ignored. I took on my role as an educator with pride knowing that I was able to have a positive role in scaffolding children’s development and learning through their early years of life. I aspired to be just like the great mentors I have had the privilege of working for. There is nothing more I adore than to see children meeting their milestones and achieving skills they have been working so hard on.

What makes your centre different from others?

With taking up to only 60 children a day, it allows for a strong community connection within our centre, which is respectful and intimate, promoting an opportunity for all children and educators secure bonds. With a professional mind and a nurturing heart, KAEH and our educators work in collaboration with one another to provide a learning environment full of rich and thoughtful experience to scaffold the children individual development.
